Documenting A
Sporting Legend
Over three years, we helped craft and produce the story of Paul Schlegel, from script to screen. Our team helped with writing, filming, editing, and post-production, including setting up a local theater screening in Maumee Ohio, where tickets nearly sold out! This documentary is also available to rent on Amazon Prime!
From Track to Theater - Paul Schlegel: The Godfather of Motorcycle Racing

Client Overview
Toledo Trail Riders are a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) dirtbike and ATV club based in Northwest Ohio, that focuses on the safety and enjoyment of the Maumee State Forest APV area. Often putting on events and fundraisers for the continued safety and maintenance of these trails.
Toledo Trail Riders wanted to spread the word about an unknown hero in the motorcycle racing community. Paul Schlegel had done so much for the sport in his lifetime, that many were unaware of. They needed a documentary that would highlight and venerate this motorcycle legend.
- 01
Stanton Creative Media (at the time Todd Productions Inc.) helped develop, write, film, and edit an IndieGoGo video to kickstart the campaign that raised funds for the project.

- 02
Gaining access to the man himself, interviews were conducted on multiple occasions at various locations that would form the backbone of the documentary and shape the narrative moving forward.

- 03
Once the interview footage was in the can, a hefty task of sorting through the raw footage and rough editing the film began. Working with Toledo Trail Riders another huge task accompanied the editing, compiling photos and archived footage that would bring the documentary to life.
- 04
A marketing campaign was launched to generate interest in the big screen debut of the film. A member of our team, along with the client appeared on the news and radio shows to spread the word.

- 05
We hosted a premiere event at the Maumee Indoor Theater, to premiere the film. Motorcycle enthusiasts and general audiences alike, gathered to watch the documentary on the big screen!

- 06
Pushing away from a physical media release, an effort to make the film as widely available to audiences as possible was made. The streaming launch of the film was made available on Amazon Prime.

Final Outcome
By writing, developing, and working closely with our client to bring their dream to life, we helped them spread the word about an industry leader. This project demonstrates the importance of legacy, and how documenting a story in this way can help it live on for future generations.
